Monday 6 July saw us headed back to Perth to attend the Telstra Business Awards networking and media workshop and gala dinner event.
The media and networking event was fantastic. We met the winners from last year and they were an inspiring group. Down to earth, real stories from real small business owners. At the end of the evening there was an opportunity for us to introduce our business in a 30 second elevator pitch. So much to say and so little time, but we met some awesome business people.
The dinner event was fantastic. Keynote speaker was Carolyn Creswell who is the founder of Carman's Kitchen. What a story from such humble beginnings. She is a gorgeous person and we caught up with her at the end of the evening.
Messages of support flashed across the screen from friends and family which meant we felt they were there with us. We may not have won our categories but felt like winners anyway. With over 2,300 businesses entering the awards and just 23 finalists, we were finalists in both Micro and Regional Business, HideAway Haven was proud to accept our finalist award.
Three of the Five finalists in the Regional category were local and Great Southern Distillery were the winners.
