Albany Region for the Dedicated Discoverers - Discover Wine

Albany Region boasts numerous wineries of all shapes, sizes and varieties across the region. Regardless of size, our wineries embrace a casual, unpretentious atmosphere. Stop in at one of these family-owned and operated wineries and the vintners will be all too happy to help educate your palate if needed and steer you to a perfect wine to compliment your meal or special occasion.

We boast one of the largest of Australia's wine regions, the Great Southern, which stretches from Frankland River in the north to Albany in the south, from Denmark in the east to Mt Barker and the Porongurup's in the west - an area covering close to 1,000 square kilometres of some of the most picturesque and unspoilt countryside in Western Australia.

From one of Western Australia's smallest wineries 'Oranje Tractor' a sustainably-managed organic vineyard and cafe to 'West Cape Howe' with some of Western Australia's oldest vineyards.

We have the 2014 Winemaker of the Year to a 5 red star winery Poachers Ridge rated by James Halliday, our region has something for everyone.  The Lake House in Denmark again received 5 stars in the James Halliday Wine Companion with their wines being highly rated with 8 of their wines having a score of 94 or higher.

If you are a wine lover, the Albany Region and surrounds is the perfect place to spend a week.  With HideAway Haven as your base you will be able to return at the end of the day and enjoy a glass of wine on your deck.

Why not have someone else drive you?  Over the barrel tours and Busy Blue Bus tours will tailor make a special day for you, or join and group and enjoy the experience with other wine enthusiasts and making new friends.

There are numerous events throughout the year from festivals and concerts to food events.
