Difference between the traditional B&B and HideAway Haven

HideAway Haven is more a self-contained hosted accommodation rather than your traditional B&B. Yes you do get a bed and breakfast, but you do get a lot more.

HideAway Haven is a purpose built hosted accommodation.  For your convenience and use there is a full kitchen available to prepare your own evening meals, should you choose to cook.  There is also a washing machine and a dryer for those travellers who have been on the road for a while giving them the opportunity to leave with a suitcase full of clean clothes.  These facilities are there for the guests use and enjoyment and do not have to be shared with the hostesses.

Your breakfast is brought to you on a tray each morning and you have the option to eat in the purpose built dining room or take the tray out to your private deck to enjoy. We do however ask that you prepare your own tea or coffee in the morning as we do not have the staff to do this for you.  You can make it to your own liking, it is fresh and you can enjoy as many cups as you wish.

We do not have the usual standard fare of cereals and yogurts, toast and jams that have been left out for hours, coffee than has been kept warm in the pot that is probably stale.  Instead your menu gives you the option of Home Made Toasted Muesli, Home Made Yoghurt and a variety of home-made breads, jam, honey and marmalade purchased from the local farmers market.  Chia breakfast pudding and bowels of fresh fruit freshly prepared just for you.  Maybe you are a breakfast smoothie kind a person - this is also freshly prepared for you each morning.

Then we have our local free range egg dishes, fried, poached or scrambled served on a bed of fresh English spinach?  Sausages, chipolatas, locally smoked free range ham and bacon.  Grilled tomato, mushrooms in burnt butter, potato rosti, baked beans are just some of the accompiaments that are served with your eggs.  Menu choices vary daily so you don't get bored.

For the more adventurous and with our ever changing menu why not try our Hash brown, Bacon & Egg Bake?  or maybe one of our Stratta's which is like a savoury bread and butter breakfast pudding.  Do you have a sweet tooth? Try our Baked Egg Croissant with strawberry jam which is a twist on a classic French breakfast or when peaches are in season Home Made Brioche French Toast served with peaches poached in caramel sauce, waffles, American Cinnabuns, French Toast Roll Ups (With a hint of cinnamon and sugar on the outside, and a creamy vanilla filling on the inside).

Do you have a specific dietary restriction? Vegetarian, Lactose Free, Gluten Free? We make our own gluten, lactose and yeast free bread, try our coconut quinoa which is both gluten and lactose free.  For the vegetarian why not ask for our Goats Curd and Tomato Tart.

Being able to bring you these options does mean that we cannot have our kitchen open for hours in the morning and guests will need to choose a time the night before when they would like to have their breakfast served.  We are always flexible and if plans change just leave us a note or send a text message and we will happily accommodate them.

As a very small accommodation you do have the advantage of not running into people all of the time and a highly personlised service, but the disavantage is that we do not have a huge staff to be more flexible with check in and out times, room servicing times and breakfast serving times.
