“A Sanctuary for the Soul - Reconnect with Nature”

We get so many awesome reviews on Trip Advisor....I have decided to start sharing them on our blog.  This was from a couple who live in Singapore, both of them with really busy and sucessful careers.  We are glad they could re connect with each other at HideAway Haven.  The were celebrating with a birthday and we organised 2 x 90 min massages with Hayley from Radiant Being and a whale watching tour with Sail-A-Way. They enjoyed a beautiful morning on the waters of Princess Royal Harbour watching the whales at play.  Why not ask us when booking what special surprises wecan arrange for you to spoil your loved one or each other.

A real hideaway it was - the GPS system kept announcing (insisting) that we had reached our destination, but all we saw before us was a charming corner house with its own brown double garage - it looked as if you could be driving up to your own house in a lovely, residential neighbourhood. Could this be Hideaway Haven, we wondered? Then we noticed a large brown bear to the left of the house. It was holding forth a sign announcing that it was indeed THE place. We had arrived (home).

The owners of HH stay on the top floor (ground level). The bed & breakfast wing is below ground level, down a flight of steps. The entire wing comprising of 3 rooms is supported by Jarrah poles amongst the trees. Almost like entering a treehouse of your own. The theme is continued inside with wooden floors throughout the common room and bedrooms, all with their own ensuites.

We stayed in the Bushland suite, which is the largest of the 3 rooms, and had a King-sized bed, a separate longue area with reverse airconditioner/heater, and a lovely balcony where you could eat the sumptous breakfasts cooked for you by Maggie every morning amongst the birds chirping, and the leaves rustling. This is one place where you can leave the stresses of work behind you, and imagine that you are in your own private sanctuary. There is no one to disturb you. There is perfect peace and solitude at night. No flashing headlights of cars intruding, no sounds of traffic, period. Here you can enjoy the company of your partner, cuddle up together, and reconnect with your inner soul. Recharge, and take in the freshest of air. Unpolluted, unspoilt. How rare for city dwellers like us!

The entire place is spotless - they do a very good job of cleaning up after you every morning, when you leave to go whale watching or sightseeing, and you come back to a freshly cleaned room with every thing put back into its place, and all amenities replenished.

Enough said about their breakfasts! You can read it in all the reviews here. Suffice to say, they lived up to their reputation and were sumptous! They will take into account any dietary restrictions which you might have - gluten-free, lactose-free, etc. As I am lactose intolerant, Maggie thoughtfully included a note with our breakfast tray to warn me that there was yoghurt in the museli. She had also used rice milk in place of fresh! Delightful, charming hoste sses were the owners.

We had a lovely time here, and would re-visit if we possibly can, in the future. You should, too, particularly if you love teddy bears. There is presumably one in every room - we had brought along our own bear, and he interacted impeccably towards the incumbent bear in the room for the duration of the stay. We were pleasantly surprised. He is normally rambunctious, but, perhaps, the calming influence of HH had gotten to him, too!
