Five Star Hosted Accommodation vs Five Star Hotel

There are many guests who believe that the facilities and guests services of a five star hosted accommodation are the same as that of a five star hotel.  In fact they are quite different. The differences are clearly identified on the AAA Star Rating webpage

A Five Star Hotel will provide reception staffed 24 hours, 7 days a week and a dedicated and staffed concierge desk.  Some five star hotels will provide a dedicated onsite business centre including computer, printers, internet access and a dedicated onsite day spa, professionally staffed offering a variety of treatments.  They could provide a pool, a sauna, spa/hot tub and a tennis court. They may offer valet parking, video surveillance cameras and under cover access to reception.  They will have an on-site restaurant offering breakfast, lunch and dinner 7 days a week and offer 24 hour room service.  There will be a full mini bar in your room with a selection of alcoholic and non–alcoholic beverages plus light snacks eg peanuts, chips, chocolates at an additional cost.  There will be a kettle in your room with packaged tea and coffee and UHT milk.

What you won’t get in a five star restaurant that you will receive in a 5 star hosted accommodation such as HideAway Haven are passionate hosts and hostesses for whom their business is their life.  They will go out of their way to provide you with an experience not just a place to stay.  You will receive a full housekeeping service and your room will be treated with love and respect.  You are treated as a guest in their home.  There is no need for a 24 hour reception desk as you are living in their home. You will enjoy a fully cooked breakfast cooked to your liking and your dietary restrictions or requirements will be catered for.  Most hosted accommodation providers source the freshest local ingredients from Farmers Markets in their local area to bring you healthy food grown organically.  There will be a whole range of different teas to choose from with teapots for the real tea drinking experience. Ground coffee beans are provided with plungers so you can enjoy the aroma of real coffee. No UHT milk here, just fresh local milk or if you prefer soy milk will gnerally be available. You will come home at the end of the day and your room will look like you are entering it for the first time.  In the winter the heater will be turned on, lights are switched on and afternoon tea is waiting for you.   There is a guest room where you can socialise with other guests if you wish, sharing stories of your day, places not to miss and finding common ground.  Some guests will leave having made new friends.   Some hosted accommodations will provide other meals on request or provide evening meals 7 days a week.  If no meals are available your hosts will have an extensive knowledge on the best places to dine, what to order from the menu and what to avoid.  You can be guaranteed an awesome dining experience if you follow their recommendations. Your hosts can provide personalised/special interest activities, such as The HideAway Infusion , Tour Booking Service such as SailAway Whale Watching Tours  or transfer service to and from the airport or restaurants.  Complimentary Extras such as chocolates and a welcome drink on arrival is just another personal service that can be provided.

Just as in a five star hotel you will enjoy top quality linen, mattresses that ensure a great night sleep, latex pillows or similar, fully coordinated furnishings, superior lighting and adequate space to move around. All surfaces will be colour coordinated and in good condition.

If being an anonymous guest and having access to 24 hour reception and room service is what you are after, don’t book a room at a hosted accommodation.  This is where you will find personalised service, where you will be a guest in their home.

This is the experience where your comments and criticisms are taken personally, where we strive to meet your needs, where you are not just another guest checking in.

Some comments from guests who loved their Five Star experience at HideAway Haven a five star hosted accommodation property.

Maggie and Becki are beautiful hostessess with the mostesses, always making sure you are well looked after and offering advice for day trips and FOOD trips. Best for me was coming back to the Haven for a delicious arvo tea!  Jill and Frank on Trip Advisor

Attention to detail is always reassuring and from the spotless cleanliness to the beautifully minimalist metal wall hangings to one of the most indulgent mattresses you'll ever find, exceptional.  Dine out at M and B's researched and recommended restaurants including Lime 303 and The Mean Fiddler that Becki kindly drove us to, taxi back is easy and safe. Luxury appointments and a bed with lots of sleep in it. Lovely breakfast and great recommendations from our hosts, Maggie and Becki. - Mike on Trip Advisor

Hosts were very helpful and friendly. Breakfasts change daily and were delicious as were the afternoon teas. Lovely views and spotless premises. Furnishings were tasteful and décor in keeping with the beautiful setting. Premises worthy of their five star rating.  Geoff on Trip Advisor

and finally this is the real experience of a five star hosted accommodation.

What can I say? Maggie and Becki. Right from the outset, the girls were SO helpful, friendly, charming and very funny! It's worth staying here just to meet these two. What a double act! Add to that the excellence and quality of the rooms, facilities and breakfasts and you have a wonderful getaway. There is nothing left to chance. Even mini torches in the bedside cabinet in case you get 'lost' at night. Free Wi-Fi, an amazing view from the room, loads of local information provided, the choice of staying in your room or using the communal room for your food, cooking facilities, everything you need for a great stay. I note one reviewer made some comments which were rather negative but reading them... jeez! What do you want? I can't think of anything that wasn't just perfect. We also really like Albany. The girls pointed us in the direction of a great restaurant (Lime 303) and the local fish and chip shop was great. Both Maggie and Becki work their socks off to provide everything you could possibly need. You will also see from other reviews that they are caring, warm and really upset if they feel anyone is disappointed. We were NOT! We had a fantastic time.  Thank you Keff on Trip Advisor
